Captain Marvel
Kelly Sue DeConnick was kind enough to answer a question I posed to her about Captain Marvel’s helmet via tumblr a couple days ago. I’ve seen a bunch of illustrations where she was drawn with and without the helmet. So it got me to thinking what’s the story behind it. The helmet design has some clear Kree influences, but as far as that I couldn’t surmise much else....

Ame-Comi Wonder Woman #3
I’m really beginning to be bothered by the title of the comic. At first it didn’t bother me much, but the more I say it in my head and type it I realize that the “Ame-Comi” is rather clumsy. Why not just anime or something else?
Anyway I just downloaded it from the DC Comics app and plan to read it on my way home tonight from work. I also downloaded Astonishing Spider-Man...

Creator-Owned Heroes
Did anyone else buy it last week? I admit I picked it up solely for the fact that Phil Noto is doing the art in Trigger Girl 6. Well it turned out to be a pretty cool magazine. I call it a magazine because it has two comics, interviews with creators, and some other feature-y stuff. It reminded me a tiny bit of Wizard, but way better. (Is that magazine even on sale still?)

Ah the weekend....
Got a pretty kick ass Saturday planned. I’ll be hanging with some college friends for barbecue and beer in Baltimore. Good times ahead right? Before all that a haircut must be obtained. It’s too hot for all this hair on my head and face. Also Marvel is having a .99 cent sale on some quality digital X-Men comics. Most of them are recent Uncanny X-Force stories and recent Uncanny X-Men...

Comic overdose
Just got caught up on a stack of comics from this week and last week. Lots of really good stuff. The Batman Annual, AvX, Rachel Rising, and Fairest all stood out.
Fairest especially picked up steam lately with a strong story. Snyder Mr. Freeze story was pretty crazy. I like the new twist on him and his personality. He wasn’t like that pre-new 52 was he? Rachel Rising. What more can I say...
thegeekcritique asked: YES! Rebecca and I sit down with our boys and watch them. What's funny is some of the best television shows and movies came out long before there was cussing, nudity, etc. Our hope is if we expose our kids to these shows, these shows will live on through them and through our grandkids : P In a way, that makes shows like Twilight Zone something eternal.

Kingdom Hearts
Why is Square Enix fooling around and not creating a new Kingdom Hearts for consoles? I want Kingdom Hearts on the PS3 dagnabit! I’m about to go into a Yosemite Sam like tantrum due to frustration.

Never mind Christmas…E3 is the most wonderful time of the year. Just watched video of The Last of Us and once again I am very impressed by what I saw and heard. Of course the post-apocalyptic world is nothing new to games, but there is a nice twist to that idea in this game. Apparently a fungus is behind it all!…or as Kramer would say fungi. That’s a really cool sci-fi twist....

E3 Video Game Post!
Yeah I’m a bit behind on the breaking news of the games, but I have been watching with tons of excitement like everyone else. Work has kept me from posting on any of the games that caught my eye though. So finally here is an entry on my thoughts.
Assassins Creed 3- Looks fantastic. You gotta give it up for Ubisoft to turn out these Assassin games with such a quick turn around and still...
