Congratulations and apologies to Iron Man fans! Gillen has done some great stories on Uncanny X-Men. He should felt well in Iron Man’s world. But alas Land is Land. Static images and reused faces/bodies will abound. If Uncanny X-Men wasn’t ending in a few months I’d be excited for a new artist coming to the book. I guess there is solace in Remender and Cassaday on a book together.
Given Remender’s talent does anyone think he can rival the Whedon/Cassaday Astonishing run?
So there’s a character in this issue named Lorna Kyle. She’s a member of the Religion of Crime and holds the title “Lord of Thieves.” She’s also petting a cat in one panel. So just how far back does the Kyle name go in Gotham? I wonder if Gray nd Palmiotti put her in the book alluding to Selina. All the hints and signs would seem to point to that. This book is getting very interesting and a lot of fun to read.
Did anyone else catch all this when you read it?
Following appearances in Wolverine and the X-Men I think I’m becoming a fan of Husk. The creepiness of her powers as drawn by Chris Bachalo and Jorge Molina is kinda cool. There’s also this possible crush Toad has on her that could get interesting should she find out what he may or may not be doing with her husks.
Gasp! It’s the savage land! It exists!
Well maybe not..but this is pretty cool.
Whoa! There were awesome books this week. Pearl is such a bad ass. “Shh I’m tanning” as she watches a vampire burn. Such a good line. Pearl and Skinner also make a great team. I wouldn’t have that they would be working together, but it appears this story will have a few plot twists.
Concerning Uncanny X-Force there is one scene involving Psylocke that hits like a punch to the gut. Remender is a brillint mad man when it comes to this book. I can’t wait for the next issue. This book is so grim and dark it is ridiculous, but it’s definitely one of the best x-books. I’m glad the stories have been untouched by the Avengers vs. X-Men plot.
