I keep having thoughts pop into my head about the movie and feel the need to share. I really should write these down and do a big huge post. Sorry if they have gotten somewhat annoying, but there’s been a flood of Bat-posts on your dashboards anyway right?
Anyway you know what was weird about the DKR? Batman, Bruce in particular, aging. I wasn’t mistaken when I saw streaks of grey hair was I? A superhero greying and succumbing to the rigors of fighting? That’s rather unheard of isn’t it? We also saw the physical toll being Batman took on Bruce’s body. This is the stuff that is sort of the anti-superhero movie. I can’t remember when something like this has been such a big part of the plot before.
Nolan’s Batman movies have always had a sense of realism in them in that gadgets and what not were believable due to modern tech. But Nolan gave us a Bruce that was worn down and body was giving out on him. A superhero who’s body can’t go on? Odd. But then you remember Bruce is just a man in a suit with great tech. There’s no healing factor or increased durability and resistance. I dunno. I guess it’s just something you don’t see often in the comic book movies. It’s definitely something comic book fans don’t see a lot if at all.

That’s how it is in the comics during bane’s story. Batman gets weak from being up never sleeping. He is up all night...

What bothers me is the timeline of Bruce as Batman. He was Batman for the first two films, which was what, like two years? And then he quick for 8 years, and then was Batman again for less than a year. So in total, he was Batman for less than 3yrs
