A little self-serving celebration:

I don’t post too much about my personal or professional life on here, but I had to make an exception for this news. Previously, I was a journalist for a small neighborhood newspaper for the Montgomery County Sentinel newspaper in Maryland. Covered a bunch of things while I was there and in 2012 I covered that derecho storm that developed over Ohio and caused all kinds of chaos on its way east. Some of the American folks may remember it making the news.

Well I covered that story and won an Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association 1st place award for dailies under 10,000 for the story. The link to the story is above if you want to read. It’s not a long one. It’s just one award from my very brief time as a journalist but it means a lot. I can use award winning journalist on things now! haha

Also chase your dreams…never give up…trust in your abilities..so on and so forth (seriously do those things)

Starter coat! I remember asking my mom for one of those in the early 90s. She wouldn’t let me because people were getting mugged for them. I did eventually get a Redskins one years later. Looking back they were pretty crummy jackets. You’d get holes in ‘em and the inside material would pop out.

Anyway in 1991 I was probably far from wack rocking some British Knights or some Cross Colors maybe haha. Karl Kani? Osh Kosh suspenders…
