Those eyes.
I don’t think anyone does eyes better than Phil. Faces too for that matter.
Phil Noto’s gorgeous art.
‘A Slow Descent’
‘Defender’
Here’s a weird thing - At Emerald City Comic Con, I approached him, asking to get a commission of a USWNT soccer player from him. It didn’t work out due to time constraints, but I was delighted to see these. Wish I could buy *all* of his work from this show. Click through and delight yourself.
If anyone needs to release an art book it’s Phil Noto. I’d buy one in a heart beat.
→ Psylocke by Phil Noto
Another reason I love Phil Noto? He takes extra effort to make Betsy look Asian.
how much of phil noto is enough on your dashboard?
and I bet we all already follow phil on tumblr. right?
I reckon if I had any artistic skill I’d want to draw like Phil or at the very least he’d influence me a great deal.

That’s the cover for Astonishing X-Men #54. Fantastic right? Here’s the solicitation for that issue.

Miniseries
Former journalist Vaughn Barnes has been reduced to moonlighting as cameraman for the shoddy paranormal-investigation cable TV show Phantom Finders. But when a curious device summons the specter of a beautiful, translucent woman, Vaughn is plunged into a mystery of criminal intrigue that spans two worlds! Kelly Sue DeConnick and Phil Noto launch their exciting new take on one of Dark Horse’s most popular characters ever!
• Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain Marvel) brings a keen new eye to the spectral heroine.
• Renowned artist Phil Noto (Angel & Faith, X-23) perfectly captures the wraithlike elegance of the enigma known as Ghost!
Sounds like it’s going to be fun. I pre-ordered back in May I think. While I’m not familiar with the Ghost character the plot sounds interesting and that’s a top notch creative team. I haven’t seen much of Jenny Frison’s work before but that’s very well done cover also. What’s not to like?
Kristen Stewart - Here’s my piece for the upcoming group show “Muchos KStew” at Meltdown Comics in L.A. this weekend. It’s being curated by my friend and Kstew Superfan, Julia Vickerman. There’s going to be a bunch of great art so you should definitely check it out. Sadly I can’t make it due to having to help the Easter Bunny out this weekend.

Phil does some great moment in time illustrations. Like they were pulled from a Marvel photo album.
That idea would sounds really cool. If Marvel or DC did a photo album of some of their iconic story moments mixed with some original art. I’d definitely buy something like that.
