Halle Berry will be in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry will officially return to the “X-Men” franchise as Storm in the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”Berry, who will be seen later this month in the thriller “The Call,” has been the subject of speculation over whether she would return as the silver-haired mutant who can control the weather. Berry played the role in “X-Men” (2000), “X2” (2003) and “X-Men: The Last Stand” (2006).But with the director of those first two films, Bryan Singer, back for “Days of Future Past” and reuniting many of his old cast members, it seemed increasingly likely that Berry would reprise her role.“Days of Future Past” is a time travel story that will feature the younger versions of the X-Men, as seen in 2011’s “X-Men: First Class,” as well as the older mutants of the previous trilogy. The story deals with an attempt to stop a catastrophic event in the past that creates a dark future for mutantkind.Other returning cast members from the earlier films include Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Ellen Page and Anna Paquin, while “First Class” stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult will also appear. “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage is on board as the movie’s villain.“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is out in theaters July 18, 2014.

At first I did not like Halle Berry in the role, but then I think it had more to do with how she was used. Her character got better as the movies progressed, but the over crumminess of X3 sorta spoils it. Storm is my favorite X-man so I hope her role is much more prominent and deserving of one of the best X-men characters.

Bianchi can be hit or miss for me sometimes. This time he nails it. I like his covers and standalone images like this more than his panels.

Yes! Storm should just lightning bolt people more often. Without explanation just give ‘em the old “krakka boom” if they upset her.

Storm is wearing slippers, eating sushi, and has a martini. Now what would Storm be watching on TV?

“Don’t you dare get me started.” How many times did I hear my mom say that when I was a child haha.
Storm is a boss.

Storm and Black Panther

The Phoenix Force has most likely ruined another relationship. Curse that vile cosmic power! I’m actually not that upset with what seems like the end of their marriage. I mean it was cool way back when they got together. They became one of Marvel’s “power couples.” Aside from a handful of stories Marvel didn’t do much with the pairing. They’re obviously major players in their own universes. Storm is a leader of the X-Men and T’Challa a king and sometime Avenger.

I guess I wouldn’t mind seeing them together just for the sake of it. They are two of my favorite characters. But then it would almost be a marriage in name only wouldn’t it? Or at least seem that way. The good thing is if it is indeed over it shouldn’t change Storm’s character too much.

They got hitched back in 2006 right? Six years. I wonder if that beats the average for married people in the real world. What say you followers? Should T’Challa and Ororo see a counselor? Or call it quits?

Piotr: So what is this ultimate authority?
Ororo: The cause.
Piotr: And what is that, exactly?
Ororo: You have to ask that? Where have you been, Piotr? We have to broaden the scope. I am not interested in running a team designed to protect the interests of merely a select segment of mutantkind.
X-Men # 32

Storm should have struck him with a huge bolt of lightning as soon as he asked,”what is that exactly.” No one seconds guesses Storms orders!
But seriously this book has had some excellent drama ever since Brian Wood took over. I absolutely love that Storm is running her own team and actually hiding things from Scott. I see this as a major step for the character to become a real leader at the forefront of the X-Men.

On a side note I was hoping Jean would return at the end of AvX. I’m kinda surprised it will be the teenage Jean from the original X-Men days. Not sure how I feel about that team of X-Men coming to the future. It’ll be interesting to see how Bendis makes this work. I’m curious to see how he’ll handle the current Angel who is a blank slate and the Angel from the past.
