First look at the Rachel Rising tshirt that will debut at SDCC on Wednesday. From Graphitti Design. We wanted a shirt that would look good by itself or under a sport coat. In other words, not just for black tshirt comic folks, but also for people who haven’t heard of the book. Notice the neck scar? Very cool.
Rachel Rising Tshirt available to the world July 18.

I want one!

Rachel Rising #9

Answers! Sweet glorious answers! After 9 issues Moore finally pulls back the curtain a bit and gives us a look at what has been going on; well part of what has been going on anyway. I don’t want to spoil too much but there’s a very old demon has been the source of some of the craziness and the blonde woman (named Lilith) may not be what she has appeared as. I mean a story this wild had to have an evil demon or two right?

It was a clever little twist concerning Lilith. I didn’t see that coming and of course there are still a ton of other questions lingering. That dreaded snake that lives in the woman hasn’t returned yet, although I look forward to seeing more of her because she is really creepy.

It’s probably not meant to be funny but Moore has created a really unique and quirky cast of characters in this book. For a horror book they are certainly an interesting group. And the final pages hints at what could be a very interesting 10th issue.

Rachel Rising #8 by Terry Moore.

Issue 8 was another home run. Somehow Moore managed to infuse a bit of humor into this issue which also had a pretty gnarly “holy shit” moment.
Rachel Rising has been slowly building towards something big and terrible. I have no idea what it is or when it will happen. But I do know when things do boil over it will be awesome. I love this book.

Another comic series that I don’t see enough people reading.

Rachel Rising by Terry Moore.

It’s pretty great so far. I haven’t been able to read issue 7 yet, but I’m excited too. All the covers are neat too.

It’s my first comic by Terry Moore, but I’ve heard good things about Echo and Strangers in Paradise so I may have to check those out next.

Go find all the issues and buy them and read them and be happy. Gogogo.

The book is fantastic and will give you the creeps. I wasn’t a believer that comics couldn’t be scary until I started reading Rachel Rising.

Echo is a very nice sci-fi book that’s worth reading also.

It really is a truly awesome comic. I’m confident in saying that it can stand next to the best of DC, Marvel, or any other publisher for that matter.

Check it out! Terry talks about a bunch of stuff including digital comics, Rachel Rising, Echo, and the possibility of his work getting colored.

I really enjoyed Echo and Rachel Rising is a fantastic horror comic. It always nice to support an indie creator like Terry.

How To Draw Beautiful, the third book in my How To Draw series. Just finished writing this. It’s off to the printer tonight. Should be out next month.

If I were any good at drawing I’d pick this up. Terry can draw some beautiful images.

Rachel Rising 5 cover art. Should be in stores by mid-January. If you know what’s good for you, you won’t get on that elevator.

And if you’ve read issue 1 through 4 you won’t get on this elevator. In fact you would run away very quickly.

Rachel Rising 4 cover art. This is the current issue, in stores now.

Yikes! As if this book wasn’t creepy enough. Terry goes and draws this cover. Green eyes are usually sexy, but not so here.

CBR has an excellent interview with Terry Moore. Terry drops some gems on working as an independent publisher and the bigger picture of his comics. Check it out! And check out Rachel Rising if you dig horror/supernatural comics.

Rachel Rising #2

When it comes to horror and comics I haven’t read much that really made me feel uneasy. I’m sure there is some good stuff out there and maybe I haven’t found it. But I have to give Terry Moore credit, issue 2 of Rachel Rising is very creepy and this is setting up to be one hell of a story. Issue 1 ended with a ton of questions and issue 2 doesn’t give away much either. Rachel is still trying to figure out what happened to her and she enlists the help of a family member to help her out.

One of the lingering questions is that some people seem to recognize Rachel and some don’t. Also no one seems to acknowledge that she has been missing for a few days. I’m also wondering if Rachel has some sort of power connected to the dead. Something strange happens in a morgue when Rachel gets upset and yells. This book is filled with some really great moments and definitely has a slow burn as far giving away details and the story is all the creepier for it.

If that wasn’t enough there’s an even eerier scene involving a young girl and what may be a ghost or something. Who knows what it is. Anyway I don’t want to spoil anymore but suffice to say this comic is amazing after only 2 issues. It’s genuinely scary good stuff.

Of course Terry Moore is on top of his game as far as the art. It’s in black and white and that helps the atmosphere of the book. The black pages also add a nice touch that wouldn’t be there if the pages were white. I never knew Moore had this in him. Rachel Rising is a completely different direction from Echo and Strangers in Paradise.

I’m going to go ahead and say that Rachel Rising is a must read book. Buy it!
